The Southern Magnolias are bloomin’, y’all!!!
Posted in Pensacola, Uncategorized on May 7, 2009
Not many flowers can claim that they are the size of dinner plates. Southern Magnolias are blooming all over the south right now. The trees are various sizes…some are gigantic and majestic. Others are little shrubs or saplings. No matter the size of the tree, they still grow these humongous flowers that have always reminded me of my grandmother’s fine china dinner plate with a tea cup on it!
The blooms are just about to open up!
The Wisteria is blooming, too!

Beautiful!
Wish I was there! Those are truly beautiful.
Beautiful shots!! It seems we here in Atlanta have skipped Spring and gotten into Summer. Crazy weather for us.

Ironically, we don’t get Magnolias in Costa Rica. They are certainly beautiful flowers! Wisteria we get tons of, but it’s still so gorgeous:)

Oh what beautiful photos, those flowers are gorgeous!
Lovely shots!
Too bad some of the flowers like magnolias don’t last very long. I’m enjoying the spring flowers here, too.

Wow, the size of dinner plates! Those are some big flowers. Trying to grow my own wysteria out here in California, one of my favorite flowers.
Isn’t spring in the South great? The magnolias are blooming here, too and lots of jasmine…smells heavenly! Happy Mother’s Day!
