OK. I really need to get to bed, and I really love this post. I met a slightly crazy woman from New Orleans on an airplane, and she had so much fun describing Beingets and other delicious New Orleans treats. Thinking of making the journey some day. I especially loved your tips...too funny.

Amy-If you make it to New Orleans, let me know. Maybe we can have a meetup! I go to New Orleans as often as I can!
Carolina-I have had beignets other places, but nothing can touch New Orleans. As for Cafe Du Monde being less busy, the only time I can remember walking right in to get a table was in February and even then, it was super crowded but at least it wasn't standing room only!
Mara-We definitely would be stopping at every ice cream and pastry shop along the way if we traveled together. I love trying new treats! As a matter of fact, on our road trip next week we will be touring a pasty and jam factory!

You and I should travel together - we could do pastries and ice cream, pastries and ice cream.

My favorite part of this post is that you actually calculate how many times you're going to convince your husband to go - I totally do that same thing. Luckily for me, when it comes to the maple soft serve, everyone in my family is on the same page!

I love beignets, but I haven't properly had them in New Orleans. Hoping to make my visit there in the next couple of years. These are good tips, does it get less busy in the off-seasons?
