Now that I have a young son (age five) I thought I'd brush up on my Portuguese, sign him up for soccer and see what happens! Maybe by the Olympics... In any case, don't just go to Rio when you travel there. Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, a small town with beautiful architecture outside of Belo Horizonte (like New York) was one of all of our favorite places. (Moor Over Parador was filmed there.) And Salvador, Bahia, the original capital of Brazil, is wonderful. There is so much more to Brazil than Rio. Don't miss it! Oh, and please post what to do with children if you go! In any case, don’t just go to Rio when you travel there.
