It sounds like a great place to visit, my six year old son would love it, but unfortunately we are on the other side of the Atlantic!

Lovely shots! I know how tough it is to get decent butterfly shots as the butterflies don't always stay so still...but you got so many nice photos.

Camels and Chocolate-There were a few things in there that I think I might pass out if I came across them in the middle of the night!
Amy-The Underground section was really cool because it made you feel like you had jumped right in the Bug's Life!!!
JessieV-It was so much fun to explore. We could have spent all day!
HaveBabyWillTravel-I was reassured by the fact that the bugs were all in cages, but I always wondered if any ever "got loose"!
Wanderluster-I wish I could claim that it is my amazing photographic skills but I just happened to have my 50mm lens with me and the lighting inside the tea garden was absolutely perfect! Thanks so much!
Marina-I hate bugs as well, but it was really cool (and scary) to see what else lives out there with us.
Dave and Deb-You would love this place if you are a bug lover! It is great to see so much opening/reopening in New Orleans.
Audubon Insectarium-I am starstruck...thanks for the comment! I am so glad that you liked the review. We had so much fun and can't wait to go back! The kids loved it!
Doug-The Underground part scared my oldest, but my youngest thought it was great! She loved the ant that popped out of his hiding hole!
Bridget-They are caged up...well except for the ones that the staff hold for you to pet...ewwww...so maybe you could convince them!
Shari and Sage-I am so proud of you and your daughter! I was scared to even go in the cafe!

My 10 year old daughter and I also visited the Insectarium during our road trip this summer. Her highlight was eating "Cinnamon Bug Crunch" and purchasing the "I ate a bug at the Audubon Insectarium" t-shirt. Next for her were the huge beetles she could pet and the build your own bug creature.

I loved it! The Cajun Crickets were good, too, by the way.

Looks like creepy fun. I'm the only one in my family who likes bugs, but maybe I could talk them into this. Perhaps it would even change their minds. Great find!

I was there in May with my two grandsons, we had a blast.
Was later called the Bugtarium by my guys. My youngest would not go in the underground part but was happy to stand at the entrance and call out for help if me or brother got attacked by the moving bugs.
