A Cooking Lesson
My mom loves to cook and when she is in a new place she loves to learn how to cook meals popular to the area. This is one of the travel habits that she has passed on to me. On our honeymoon, my husband and I took a cooking class on Cajun cuisine. I try to locate fun cookbooks that concentrate on area cuisine.

Over the holidays, my sister and her family stayed with us and my mom came over to give my sister and I a cooking lesson from her time in Hawaii. We had so much fun on New Year’s Day cooking as a family.

Looks yummy! Cooking while travelling is something we haven’t tried yet. Checking out new restaurants is usually part of the fun for us, but a cooking class sounds like a great idea. Thanks for sharing!

We’ve talked on an off about doing more culinary stuff, even a longer trip with a big culinary component–but time doesn’t seem to cooperate with us. I’d love to take a Cajun cooking class!

That being said, we have brought home a fair number of cookbooks over the years from our travels. Maybe cooking the meals at home in our postage-stamp-sized kitchen would work?

Lovely post – and a good suggestion from your mum! Cooking certainly is a way to keep your travel memories fresh when you get home.
