Photo Friday
Awhile back, we visited a small scale sustainable farm in Walnut Hill, Florida. When we were driving home, we drove past this:

It took me a second to realize what it was in that form! Can you tell what it is?
Does this help?

Here is a hint! Everytime I drive past one of these fields I think of two things: 1) Scarlett O’Hara in Gone with the Wind and 2) marshmallows!

Doesn’t that kind of resemble a big fluffy marshmallow?!?!

Yup…that is cotton! To learn more about the cotton process, take a look at this downloadable .pdf file Cotton: From Field to Fabric.
Stop by DeliciousBaby to see where everyone is traveling to this week!

Yes, a field of marshmellows….wouldn’t that be delightful! Always fun to see how things grow. Thanks for sharing.

We drove past a cotton farm on the way from Atlanta down to Florida and it looks so nice. Wouldn’t it be nice if they are really marshmallow?

Very cool. For a girl from the NW, cotton fields are iconic of The Deep South. I think of Gone with the Wind, too!

I would love to squish one of those. I wonder if they feel more like cotton candy or cotton ball?

Wow! It looked like a bit Styrofoam brick to me at first.
