Spring has Sprung!
I have been missing from this blog lately. I have no good excuses except that I am lacking motivation and that lack of motivation is growing exponentially this month because spring has sprung. I dusted off my flip flops, broke out my tank tops and shorts, and am enjoying the beautiful weather we are having here in not so sunny Florida. Luckily even though it rained all night, it was gorgeous today. As I was going out to the car this evening, I realized that THEY ARE BACK! Who is “they” you might ask? As Little S would say, “the buggies and the froggies are back mommy!!!” Around December, we start to notice that all is quiet in the neighborhood. I am sure the sounds go away gradually, but what usually happens is that all of the sudden we realize that it is silent! Then a few months later at the first warm week the noises come back and get louder and stronger each night. The chorus will be so loud that some nights you walk around the house because you swore you must have left a window open. Either that or some little buggies have taken up residence in your house!
The video is dark because, well, it is dark outside when the bugs and frogs come out!! They will get much louder over the next few weeks. I will post another video then!
We are linking up to Debbie’s site, Delicious Baby, for Photo Friday so be sure to stop by and see what other travelers are talking about!

“the buggies + the froggies are back” – that’s too cute!
I loved being able to listen to the sounds you hear at home at night. They’re so different from what we hear in L.A. I’m kinda jealous!
What a beautiful sound! When we first moved into our development we used to hear lots of frogs and crickets, but now not so much
. Thanks for sharing.
Hi,
I reached out to you about a month ago to let you know that UpTake is starting a new program, “Travel Gems From Bloggers” that you may like. It is fairly easy to participate in and I do think it will improve your site search results and visits. I like to think of it like guest posting without the work.
About Travel Gems
What:
1. We deliver your posts to a new audience by integrating a short excerpt of your post on UpTake consumer pages (not on our blog)
2. If consumer wants more than the excerpt, we drive the consumer to your post via a followed link (helps SEO)
3. It’s easy for you – you can tell us automatically via a link
How (2 steps)
1. It is automatic if you link to us (we hear it) on new or old posts. We analyze your post to identify the relevant excerpt, then we review and publish it. We have to watch for spammers. This is the fastest and easiest way if you have pingbacks set up on your blog, site.
2. If you don’t link to us, you can email us the post link, we analyze your post to identify the relevant excerpt, then we approve or not.

Your site benefits from a link back to a lower rank page from a relevant site. You move up the Google search results, your post is featured on our site and we both win. Right?
Let me know what you think!
Best,
Brittany
We grew up in Florida. I really miss those sounds at night. Here in the Hollywood Hills, sometimes I hear the coyotes howling at night, but definitely doesn’t render the same feelings as the crickets and frogs.
I actually grew up in California!! I remember the coyotes howling at night (we lived on the El Toro Marine Base and the coyotes were prevalent) but haven’t heard a coyote in a long time!
Thanks for your comment! It is funny because we do live in a regular development but we are surrounded by woods on one side so when they aren’t in our front yard that is where they all hang out!
Thanks for your comment! I grew up in Cali so I know what you mean!
