Bellingrath Gardens – Theodore, AL

A few weeks ago, we went to Bellingrath Gardens.  I wrote about our experience here, but wanted to share this photo with you in honor of Photo Friday!  These beautiful Southern Belles wear these dresses, petticoats and all, in the ridiculous humidity and heat of the spring and summer.  You can read about the standards of the Azalea Trail Maid dresses.  I wish the gentleman in the front hadn’t been in my perfect shot, but I think it shows a little bit of new and old charm!  These girls represent true Southern charm and hospitality!  Those are the azaleas blooming all over the background.  It was an amazing sight to see.

Those are some gorgeous dresses. I’m guessing it was amazing in person.

Azaleas…..that is spring to me! And I love Bellingrath Gardens. Haven’t been in many years but seeing this post is a good reminder to do that with my kids in the future. They have never been. Happy Spring!

I want one of those dresses! that way I can feel like a southern belle, or just a belle. They do look pretty along with the azaleas.

They look as though they would be SO uncomfortable to wear! An amazing sight, though.

Wow! What a great picture. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!
I have some friends who live in that part of the country, and they’re big fans of Bellingrath Gardens. Looks beautiful!
