Navarre Sand Sculpting Festival – Before and After Photos

A few weeks ago, we attended the Navarre Sand Sculpting Festival.  We actually have a sand sculpting festival in Pensacola but I always have a reason not to go…too hot, too much to do, too crowded, and so on.

While in Navarre, we stayed in a beautiful condo just a few steps away from the sand sculptures.  This made it very easy to check out the sculptures throughout the weekend and see them as they progressed from piles of sands to intricate works of art.  The “Before” pictures were taken a day after the festival and contest began.  The “Almost Complete” pictures were taken just a few hours before the festival and contest ended.

What a really great thing to experience! We hired the Sandcastle Guy one trip to the beach and it was so worth it – he had us building amazing stuff in no time!

I host a Friday link up as well that your post would be perfect for – Friday Daydreamin’ – photos and stories about favorite trips – I am trying to build my mink party – this post would be perfect for it! You can find it at http://www.rwethereyetmom.com

    Thanks!

Gorgeous. Just gorgeous!!! I am always astounded by what the human mind and body can come up with. We used to have a sand art contest in college (Savannah, GA) but it was nothing compared to the sidewalk arts festival we had over alumni weekend in April. Give a bunch of art students a square of their own and you will see some really crazy stuff. We can’t wait to bring our little guy down to enjoy the festivities.

Wow – it’s hard to believe that artwork like that can be created out of a pile of sand!

What fun to watch these masterpieces take shape! And I never knew that there were people you could hire to coach you in the fine art of sand castles. What a great idea.

Just stumbled across these and your blog – how amazing! Puts our sand castles and water tunnels to shame!
