We made it to Denver!

Four days of driving and 1500 miles later, we have arrived in Denver.  We are settling in to our new home in the southern part of the city and despite the fact that we are still surrounded by boxes, we had a fabulous turkey dinner for Thanksgiving.

My mom is still here helping with the unpacking, the errands and hanging out with the kids.  We hit up some of the stores I will be regularly shopping at for a few Black Friday sales so that we could stock up on jeans, long sleeve shirts and a few Christmas gifts.  We also picked up a vacuum to replace the one that didn’t fit on the truck as well as a GPS to help us find our way around our new city.

My feet are rebelling from wearing closed-toed shoes, my lips are chapped and I am cold (though nobody around here seems to be wearing much more than a sweatshirt to keep them warm!), but if this is as bad as it gets, we will take it!

Tomorrow we are taking a break from the house and the boxes and we are going to visit the Denver Zoo.  We hear it is going to get colder in the next few days and everyone recommends taking advantage of the weather while we can.  I can’t wait to share our first adventure in Denver.

Have a great weekend!

Glad to hear that you arrived safely in Denver! I’ve never visited there in the winter, but my son wants to head out West so badly to ski on some real mountains that I imagine we will at some point. Hope you acclimate to the weather soon. Enjoy the zoo!
