Travel Blogger Tuesday

travel-blogger-tuesdayHere are a few posts that I have enjoyed reading this week!  I hope you enjoy them too!

Our Magical DisneyDream Fairytale: Luxury Meets Family Fun at Sea at Hip Travel Mama – This is a comprehensive review of their adventure on the Disney Dream.  I am ready to sign up!

Travel and the Art of Adaptability by Wandering Off – This is a great post about traveling with kids and the ability to adapt so that you can enjoy your travels too!

I Travel Therefore I Get into Messes by Monna McD – I really enjoyed this post about the fact that we often leave out the messy part of travel.  I especially like how she compared it to childbirth.  That is exactly how we compared our trip to Yellowstone because three years later, we don’t really remember how awful 85% of that trip was.  We remember the bison, the cowboys, and the great plane ride with the kids (which really was good…it was the 25 hours in the car that was no!).  I try to share some of our messy travels too and will be sharing more in the future!

And They’re Off! The Indy 500! at 500 Places with Kids – I am not a huge racing fan, but my son would absolutely love this!  I could definitely make the trip to see his eyes light up!

travel-blogger-tuesdayHere are a few travel posts I have been reading this week:

San Francisco Here We Come by Happy Family Travels – We spent a long weekend in San Francisco many years ago before we had kids.  I would love to take my kids back to the Japanese Tea Garden and detour to the Jelly Belly Factory.

Exclusive Video from the Disney Dream’s AquaDuck! by The Vacation Gals – Two of the Vacation Gals got a sneak peek of the Disney Dream, the new cruise ship.  My favorite part of getting to follow them around the ship via blog posts is this video of the AquaDuck, the gigantic water slide on top of the ship.

Scrapbook Retreats in the Midwest by Roadtrips for Girlfriends – Though scrapbooking has gone by the wayside in my household (two kids, life, not making the time for it), I have wonderful memories of a scrapbooking retreat I went on in Destin, Florida.  A couple of girlfriends and I spent the weekend scrapbooking, drinking wine and eating good food, and laughing.

Dreaming of Alaska with Kids by The Q Family Adventures – Alaska is on the top of my list of places to visit.  Grandma wants to go to so maybe we can make it a family reunion cruise through Alaska!

Caverns, Custer and Bears by 1 Dad 1 Kid – I love the story about the burros surrounding his car.  After seeing the pictures and reading this post, I wish we hadn’t skipped a trip to the Black Hills while we were in Wyoming.  We will definitely have to go back and explore!

Polkagris Peppermint Candy Store in Granna, Sweden – My children would be in heaven here at this candy store!

Balboa Park’s December Nights – I have fond memories of walking through Balboa Park on school field trips.  I would love to return with my kids someday.

Travel Blogger Tuesday – Love Baby Love Travel

travel-blogger-tuesdayI found Love Baby Love Travel when she left a comment on my blog (during a Photo Friday I believe!) and have loved looking at all of her posts from an area that I have not traveled to in awhile but hope to return to soon.  She takes beautiful photos of her baby.  I am so thankful for all the fabulous people that comment on my blog and leave their websites because I have added many new blogs to my Google Reader over the past few months.  It is a great way to “meet” new people and learn new things!  You will want to add Love Baby Love Travel to your list of blogs to read!  Some of my favorite Love Baby Love Travel posts are:

5 Things I Love About Self Catering

Bathing in the Sink (I LOVE this picture!)

Tips for Long Car Journeys with Your Baby

travel-blogger-tuesdayFor today’s Travel Blogger Tuesday, I want to introduce you to Arrows Sent Forth.  If you haven’t already found her blog, you will want to head over there right away!  Awhile back, she commented on a post of mine.  I headed over to her blog to visit and ended up spending 45 minutes thumbing through her posts.  I love the way she calls her little guy the arrow!  She has a beautiful quote on her blog about our children being living arrows sent forth.  Some of my favorite posts include:

Exploring Chicago’s Millenium Park

Going places strollers never will.

Trip Report: Warren Dunes State Park

Top 10 Tuesday: How We Save to Explore

Be sure to stop by next week as well…I found another travel blogger the same way recently and will be sharing their blog with you too!

Travel Blogger Tuesday – The Hawaii Edition!

travel-blogger-tuesday We are getting so close to our trip to Hawaii that I am living, eating, and breathing Hawaii.  I am so excited that I am going to share a few of Hawaii posts that I have found while trip planning!  Pull up a beach chair and enjoy!

Go Explore Nature visited Hawaii back in May and got to make her own lei!

The Carey Adventures has been posting some beautiful pictures of Maui.  I love the these two:  Loops of Fury and Hana Highway Waterfall.

Delicious Baby visited Oahu’s Bishop Museum with Kids recently.  We won’t be traveling with our kids, but I will be traveling with my history buff husband who will love to spend hours here.  (And we are totally going to have to send one of these home to our children!)

Life According to Jaime posted a trip report with all the great activities they did when she returned from Hawaii.

Traveler’s Barista describes her helicopter ride

Christopher Elliott was at the Coco Key Waterpark Resort in Orlando, Florida at the same time I was this weekend.  Oh how I would have loved to run into him and his family…I will admit I would have been a bit starstruck and probably wouldn’t have said anything!

Hunstville, Alabama is on our list of places to visit because it is within reach for a long weekend.  Amy at The Q Family Adventures shared her weekend adventure with us.  I didn’t know there were caves to explore!

We drove through Houston on our way back from San Antonio this summer and I told my husband that I would love to make a trip to Houston next summer for the Space Center and of course the Ikea!  Sarah is thinking about Houston at Wandering Off, too!

This post isn’t from this week, but I did just find it recently.  Tulips and Flightsuits has a lovely post with gorgeous pictures about Seaside, Florida.  I drive past Seaside about once every two months but we have yet to make the turn to check it out.  I am hoping to head over there for their large community garage sale and to sample some of the fare from the airstreams.

travel-blogger-tuesdayLast week’s Travel Blogger Tuesday post where I highlighted some of my favorite posts from that week was such a hit that I am going to continue it for the next few weeks to see how it goes.

Dave and Deb, at Canada’s Adventure Couple, share their experience of dining in the dark!  There is no way I could do this!  Anyone who has eaten with me knows that one of my little quirks is the fact that I have to face the door…no matter what!

If you read this blog, you know that we had a blast on our San Antonio weekend getaway!  Sarah of Wandering Off blogs about day trips from San Antonio over at Trekaroo today.  I wish that we had had more time to explore some of these areas.

Anil at FoxNomad gives tips to help you save money while traveling abroad.

Amy over at The Q Family Adventures shares her experience at Six Flags Over Georgia with a great tip on how to avoid the crowds…arrive later in the day!

I always imagined a trip to Vegas without the kids, but Debi over at Go Explore Nature shared her visit to the Bellagio.  What fun for the kids-fountains, beautiful gardens!  Mine would love the visit!

I love reading.  I love reading with my kids.  I love reading books that inspire me and my children to explore and seek adventure which is why I absolutely love this series that Debbie at DeliciousBaby is doing where she highlights her favorite kid’s travel books.  This week’s book is one that I haven’t heard of: Follow the Line Around the World.
