On our 3,000 miles of road trip this summer we saw lots of cool stuff.  We also saw lots of strange stuff.  Like this…

More Smoky Mountain Pictures

Last week for Photo Friday, I posted a few picture I had taken on a recent trip to the Great Smoky Mountains and mentioned that the blue misty “smoke”  always seemed to be there no matter when we visited.  Your comments and questions prompted me to do a little bit more research on where the [...]

The Great Smoky Mountains

Everytime we drive through the Smokies, I am amazed by the misty “smoke” that inspired the mountain’s name.  It is always there, whether we are driving through the mountains in the morning, afternoon, or evening.

My First Video!

I got this handy little Flip Mino HD as a prize for completing a ton of reviews on Trekaroo.  It was during a promotion that they were doing last year.  Since then, I have used it a handful of times but haven’t really done anything with the video.  As a matter of fact, when I went [...]

Yellow River Marsh Preserve State Park

A few weeks ago we took a walk through the Yellow River Marsh State Park in Milton, Florida, which is home to hundreds of pitcher plants in bloom. Pitcher plants are carnivorous plants. Like the Venus Fly Trap, they “eat” insects. You can read my review of Yellow River Marsh State Park [...]

Bluebird Gap Farm – Hampton, Virginia

Bluebird Gap Farm is not what you think it is by name.  When we made the trip Bluebird Gap Farm, we were expecting a farm in the country…you know stereotypical stuff…rolling hills of crops, animals roaming, etc!  When I got off the freeway exit, I thought for sure the GPS took us to the wrong [...]

Bellingrath Gardens – Theodore, AL

A few weeks ago, we went to Bellingrath Gardens.  I wrote about our experience here, but wanted to share this photo with you in honor of Photo Friday!  These beautiful Southern Belles wear these dresses, petticoats and all, in the ridiculous humidity and heat of the spring and summer.  You can read about the standards of [...]
