Today I am over at TravelingMom sharing a little truth about myself: I am a total book snob. But I am also making a little confession about a little piece of digital reading heaven…the e-Reader. Do you have an e-Reader? Do you love it or hate? Did you have a hard time making the transition from paper books to an e-Reader? Today, I am over at Traveling Mom singing the praises of one our favorite attractions in the New Orleans. The Audubon Nature Institute includes an aquarium, zoo and insectarium in its attractions. We just can’t get enough and visit them every time we are in New Orleans (which is at least once a year!). Hop on over and see what we love about it!
Having children does not mean that your art museum days are numbered. I take my children to art museums, history museums, science museums, and everything in between. That being said, there is something special about watching my children’s eyes light up when we enter the doors of a children’s museum. Children’s museums are specially designed with children in mind. They are invited to touch things and encourage learning and exploration through the interactive displays. If there is a children’s museum nearby while we are on our family vacation, we try to add it to our itinerary even if it is just for a few hours.

When I emailed the Biloxi CVB for some family friendly activities, the email I got back said that I absolutely had to do the Biloxi Shrimping Trip. We were only in Biloxi, Mississippi for one day and had several activities that we had to check out so I figured there was a good chance we were going to miss this boat trip.
When we were about an hour away from Biloxi, I called to get the departure times and was pleased to learn that a boat would be departing about twenty minutes after we arrived. We headed straight over there and made it just in time!
I am so glad we did not miss the Biloxi Shrimping Trip. This was the highlight of our roadtrip for my children and they are still talking about it!
Head over to Traveling Mom to read more about our Shrimping Trip and what we did!
Over at Traveling Mom, I am talking about traveling without my kids. As you know, the husband and I have a trip to Hawaii planned for our ten year anniversary SANS kids! We are nervous, excited, and feeling unprepared all at the same time. Besides making sure our wills are in order and leaving our insurance cards and a schedule, what sorts of things do you recommend we do to prepare for our trip? I would love a comment on my article at Traveling Mom with your advice on preparing for the trip.
Well, you guys knew that already didn’t you!?!
Besides writing for this blog, my Pensacola with Kids blog, and my new family craft blog, I have decided to add to my writing plate to help improve myself as a blogger and hopefully a writer so that I can get those darn book notes dusted off and get back to work. I recently joined the Traveling Mom Blogger Network where I will be blogging as Southern TravelingMom at least once a week. When you get a chance, I would love a visit from you over at TravelingMom. Leave me a comment at one of my first two posts:
I look forward to seeing you there!
